A Legacy of Compassionate Care!
Ceylon was the first to apply for assistance in the field of dental health under the Colombo Plan. In response New Zealand accepted a number of Ceylonese girls for training in New Zealand as school dental nurses. Funds were provided for the purchase of a hostel at Maharagama in Colombo and for the construction of a school dental nurses.
The Government School Dental Therapist Association of Sri Lanka has played a vital role in improving the dental health of school children and continues to be a key player in the country's public health sector.

They educate students and parents about the importance of good oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.
